*PLATOON 5 STEAL THE SHOW AS THE INTER PLATOON DRILLS COMPETITION COMES TO A CLOSE*

The 202l Batch B stream 2 lnter-platoon drills competition took place on Thursday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Ede.

The event was graced by all camp officials, military personnel and corps members who watched with rapt attention as the event unfolded.

The Camp Commandant, Capt. P.M. Egbe while welcoming officials and corps members, said the parade is a historic long military tradition used to foster unity, discipline, mental alertness, smartness and confidence in the participants. 

He appreciated the state coordinator, Mr Ayodele Adegoke for creating an enabling environment for the corps members, while enjoining the corps members to put in their best in the drill competition. 

The criteria used for judging the parade as highlighted by the chief judge Capt. O. Oyekanmi includes: Turnout, slow and quick march, mark time and halt, word of command, open and close order, eyes right and eyes front, inline dressing and the review order. 

After much consideration of the criteria of judging, platoon 5 emerged winner while the 2nd and 3rd positions went to platoons 2 and 7 respectively with Platoon 9 going home with the famous 'otondo spoon' in the 10th position. Ukem Uduak-Abasi Ukem and Lcpl Adamu Lawal of platoon 5 emerged best subguard commander and best drill inspector respectively.
