"DO THE RIGHT THING, TRANSFORM NIGERIA" - Ibikunle

The Director National Orientation Agency, Mr. Abiodun Ibikunle, has implored corps members to be sticklers of good values to help spur societal orderliness and national development.

He made this appeal while addressing the Batch C Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Wednesday.

Mr Ibikunle who was represented by Mr. Adeyemi Afolabi, restated the importance of honesty, hard work and diligence at all times and urged the teeming youths to imbibe these best practices wherever they find themselves during and after their service year.

"Imbibing good values help invigorate and ensure the stability of the Nigerian social order. Hence, the need for positive change should be the goal of every youth", he said.

According to him, values can be good or bad depending on the situation, but urged corps members to embrace the codes of national ethics such as discipline, integrity, dignity of labour, social justice, religious tolerance, self-reliance and patriotism.

He enjoined the corps members to wake up to their tasks as vanguards of the change that Nigeria needs, rather than being pocket-patriotic. "Do the right thing, transform Nigeria" he concluded.
