PLATOONS 5 AND 1 EMERGE WINNERS OF MR MACHO AND MISS NYSC AFTER A GRIPPING CONTEST

Representatives of platoons 5 and 1, Igba Thomas Kumator and Ogbaki Prudence Emize, have respectively emerged winners of the keenly-contested Mr. Macho and Miss NYSC competitions.

The contest which was sponsored by the Honorable Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Lawal Azeez Olayemi, took place at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Saturday.

The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka while speaking during the contest, noted that the variety night is part of the social activities on camp for building self-esteem, confidence, and the spirit of oneness among participants and aid them in unveiling their potential.

Speaking further, she appreciated the participants for taking part in the contest and enjoined them to promote the image of the scheme.

"While having fun, be mindful of the COVID-19 protocols and ensure strict compliance during the program, " she added.

In conclusion, she appreciated the principal camp officials and collaborating agencies present at the contest as she officially declared the night open.

Features of the program were the Miss NYSC and Mr Macho contest by the representatives of the ten platoons who came out in their various NYSC outfits for the introduction, first, second, and third appearances where their mental capabilities were tested in a Q-and-A session. Other highlights include musical performances, dance presentations, comedy and raffle draws.

The occasion also had in attendance the Camp Director, Mrs. Funmi Okundaye, the Camp Commandant, Captain O. Oyekanmi, who was the chief judge, and other camp officials.
