*Youth Should Speak Up Against Corruption- Winifred Ngobro Tells Corps Members*

Mrs Winifred Ngobro, a representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has charged corps members to speak up against corruption in our society because silence to this menace strengthens its propagation.

She made this known while delivering a lecture on Corruption at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Wednesday.

She further explained that the Commission (ICPC) plays a vital role in receiving and investigating complaints from members of the public on allegations of corrupt practices and in appropriate cases, prosecute the offenders. ICPC also examines the practices, systems and procedures of public bodies and where such systems aid corruption, to direct and supervise their review.

She expressed her deep concern by stating that corruption is one disease that has weakened our nation, every sector of the Nigerian economy is affected one way or another and that the youths can make a drastic change in Nigeria with the tool of the social media and other legitimate platforms.

She urged the youths to speak up always and join relevant agencies that promote the fight against corruption in Nigeria and promote in their little way the campaign against corruption.

She implored them to join hands in the campaign against corruption in whatever corner of the nation they find themselves.

She concluded by reafirming that the ICPC believes in the creativity of Nigerian youths and that it is expected of them as a moral obligation to do their part in upholding uprightness and fight corruption with ICPC by not being passive in the face of corruption.
