He made this known while virtually briefing the PCMs on Monday.
He started out by enlightening the PCMs in a virtual address on Monday, on the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC, which are: Orientation Course, Place of Primary Assignment, Community Development Service and Winding up/Passing out Parade.

He mentioned that the orientation course is meant to educate them about the NYSC scheme in general. “ it instills unity, integration, understanding and builds better friendship” he added.
He encouraged them to put in their best at their various places of primary assignment and to show patriotism, and responsibility to their corps employers.

“Don’t tarnish yourself, your parents, your institution, and the image of the NYSC scheme.” He added.
Speaking on Community Development Service, he admonished them to look out for problems that are particular to their communities and find ways of solving them within the spelt out regulations and procedures of the NYSC. He stated also that the CDS projects can be carried out either in groups or individually depending on the identified problem which the corps members intend to solve. He encouraged the PCMs to ensure they impact upon their host communities positively.
Speaking on Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development,  the Director General charged the PCMs to be open minded to the in-camp and post camp trainings as they could benefit so much from them. He urged them to leverage on the various platforms and opportunities made available by the NYSC, as the Scheme is  working assiduously to ensure the proposed NYSC Trust Fund intended to empower corps members with the needed fund to start up their business, becomes a reality.

Furthermore, he urged the PCMs to shun criminality and vices, such as cybercrime, drug abuse, political violence, armed robbery, and more.

“Ensure you do everything to promote love and unity and avoid using the social media negatively. Do not spread fake news and hatred through your handles. Be good ambassadors of the Scheme and your family ", he added.

He enlightened them on the various NYSC platforms and told them to visit these platforms to get clarifications on issues pertaining to NYSC.

The Director General emphasised on the need for the PCMs to get vaccinated against the COVID-19. He charged them to debunk rumours surrounding the vaccine as enlightened and educated youths and urged them to get vaccinated in order to protect yourself, protect others, and protect your community and the nation at large.

As he concluded, he advised PCMs to take responsibility, listen to all lectures, and get the best from the orientation course.
