WE ARE HERE TO RELAX AND SOCIALISE RESPONSIBLY - Shokpeka
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mrs Winifred Shokpeka has told the 2021 Batch C Stream II prospective corps members that social events, being part of camp activities, should be done responsibly.
She made this known while giving her opening speech at the welcome party held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, on Saturday.
Starting off her speech, Mrs Winifred said that the welcome party is held with the purpose to meet with and welcome one another, whilst unwinding the stress from the rigours of the camp activities.
“Socializing exceeds mere dancing and jubilations, it entails looking out for each other and being our brother’s keeper as we celebrate ourselves", she added.
As she concluded, she admonished the PCMs to have fun responsibly and exercise restraint on the dance floor.
Highlights of the welcome party include opening of the floor by the camp officials, led by the State Coordinator, dance competition by representatives of platoons 1-10 both in the male and female categories and games.
It was a night of jokes, dance, laughter and raising the roof as the contestants thrilled the audience with exciting dance moves.
At the end of the competition, platoons 8, 10 and 4 came out third, second and first positions respectively for the male category, while for the female category, platoons 6, 1 and 8 came out third, second and first positions respectively.
