ATAKUNMOSA WEST LGA HOST DIVISIONAL POLICE OFFICER

... LGI charges Corps Members to discharge their duty with dedication and selflessness.

... As security job is for everyone - DPO.
It was an interactive session on Thursday January 20th, 2022 at the conference room of Atakunmosa west LGA Secretariat, Osu, where Community Development Service was held.

In his welcome address, the LGI, Mr. Ayedenu David warmly welcomed everyone into the CDS meeting and adviced all to contribute positively. He went further to let the Corps Members especially the Batch C 2021 stream 1 and 2 know that Community Development Service (CDS) is one of the four cardinal programmes of NYSC in which Corps Members are expected to contribute positively to the development of their host communities throughout the period of National Service.
He seized the opportunity to encourage Corps Members to be time conscious especially pertaining to CDS meetings and outings, he stated that there is a punishment attached to anyone who fails to attend the CDS meeting as at when due. He warned against indecent dressing and defacing of the NYSC uniform.

In his speech, CSP Ebenezer Akinsanya, the Divisional Police Officer in Atakunmosa west LGA who is a Master's Degree holder in Industrial Psychology urged everyone to be security conscious. In his words " know your neighbour, but don't trust your neighbour". He later adviced the Corps Members not to keep late nights, "if boarding vehicles, try and snap the registration number and colour, as well as the make of the vehicle and send to your LGI, or your fellow Corps member, and also turning mobile locator in your phone on".

Moreso, CSP Akinsanya specifically directed the female Corps members to desist from hitching free rides for now and lodging in a hotel with someone whom they met on social media. He warned all to be weary of strangers and be careful of what they eat in a party to avoid falling prey to scrupulous elements.

Similarly, the police boss stated it clearly that too much of familiarity brings about contempt, hence Corps members should abstain from smear attitude that will tarnish their image. He therefore affirmed his commitment to the security of Corps members in his care.

Eulogizing the DPO for his time, Mr. Ayedenu thanked him for the security tips he has given to the Corps members. He stated that his administration shall continue working with the DPO and other security agencies to achieve the needed goal.
