ENVIRONMENTAL CDS CARRIES OUT CLEANING EXERCISE AT LG

The members of the Environmental Community Development Service Group, Ife East have organized a general clean up exercise as part of their services in the local government area.

The environmental exercise took place on Thursday at the Ife East Local Government Secretariat.
Cleaning exercises carried out by the group include: sweeping around the compound of the Secretariat and offices as well, picking of refuse around the compound and fumigating the compound.

"We saw the need to do this exercise seeing the state of the compound. It's a way to curtail the spread of diseases, rodents and pests", said the President of the group, stating the reason and importance of the exercise.

In his response, the local government inspector, Mrs Abimbola Owolawi, appreciated the group for such selfless act and encouraged other corps members to do the same.
"You don't have to belong to the environmental community development service group before you can carry out such activities" she said with sheer appreciation urging other corps members in the local government to follow suit.

The giant step taken by the corps members endeared them to the executives and staff of the local government who could not hide their joy at seeing the corps members display of humility and selfless service to humanity.
