Agbor Admonishes Camp Officials To Embrace Teamwork for Effective Delivery
The NYSC Osun State Coordinator, Mr. Agbor Ndoma Obim in a maiden meeting with camp officials at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede today admonished officials to collectively work as a team in coordinating and executing camp activities as Batch B Stream 1 Camping exercise is set to commence tomorrow, Wednesday 12th of July.
He stated that the well being of the Prospective Corps Members should be prioritized by treating them fairly noting that they will be coming from different states and backgrounds and 2,150 of them will be expected for the camping exercise, including PCMs dislodged from Lagos State.
Also, he issued a warning to officials to shun extortion of Corps Members in the course of the camping exercise and warned them that no misconduct will be tolerated.
In furtherance, He emphasized the essence of team work as a means to achieve remarkable results and also charged the officials to avoid open expression of grievances but rather sort misunderstanding amicably amongst themselves. He also pleaded with the Camp Commandant to temper justice with mercy as regards the discipline of Corps Members urging him to adopt the carrot and stick in dealings with the Members.
The Camp Director, Mr Lawal Taofik, in his brief, urged Camp officials to serve as a mirror to the Corps Members by strictly adhering to the time allocated for each activity on Camp and ensuring active participation in all activities.
He charged them to ensure Corps Members abide by the established rules and guidelines of the Scheme especially as regards dressing and also to avoid over socializing and fraternising with Prospective Corps Members which can lead to implicating conversations or relationships, stating that every misconduct will be dealt with by the Scheme.
The Camp Commandant, Major Kelvin Etokhana, in his brief called for more cooperation and support from all officials in securing the Camp due to the expected number of Prospective Corps Members. He also emphasized on the importance of keeping to time and enforcing discipline amongst Prospective Corps Members, which according to him, is everyone's duty.
He noted that there will be zero tolerance for indiscipline, cultism, hooliganism and drug abuse during the camping exercise.
Lastly, he reminded members of staff present that the purpose of the camping exercise is to discipline, train and instill virtues in Prospective Corps Members.
