2569 Batch C1 Corps Members Bid Farewell to NYSC in Osun State
The 2022 Batch C1 Corps Members deployed to Osun State marked the culmination of their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) journey today, October 12th, with a low-key passing out ceremony that echoed across the 30 local government areas of the State and 1 Area Office.
The day commenced with eager anticipation as Corps Members assembled at each Local Government Area (LGA) secretariat to collect their hard-earned NYSC certificates. This crucial certificate collection process was meticulously overseen by Local Government inspectors and a dedicated team of NYSC officials who ensured the smooth distribution of certificates.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Agbor Ndoma Obim, the State Coordinator of NYSC Osun State. He was joined by Mr. Wophill Eric, a senior officer of the Scheme hailing from Abuja, and the Zonal Inspector, among other distinguished officials who monitored the success of the programme across selected local governments in the four zones of the State.
Excitement filled the air as Corps Members arrived at the collection centers, celebrating the successful completion of their NYSC service. These dedicated individuals embarked on their NYSC journey on November 2, 2022, with a total of 2,618 members. This batch consisted of 1,167 male corps members and 1,451 female Corps Members, who came together for a shared mission of national service.
In a remarkable twist of fate, today's winding-up ceremony saw 2,569 corps members, including 1,144 males and 1,425 females, successfully completing all four cardinal programs of the NYSC scheme. However, it was noted that 35 Corps Members will be required to undergo an extension, while 14 Corps Members, unfortunately, absconded from their service obligations.
The passing out ceremony also offered moments of nostalgia and celebration, as corps members indulged in photography sessions. They captured the essence of their hard-earned achievement, proudly posing with their cherished certificates alongside family and friends.
