Agbor Sues for More Teamwork, Holds Maiden Meeting with Camp Officials
Officials at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Ede, led by the State Coordinator, Mr. Agbor Ndoma, gathered at the multipurpose hall today in anticipation of the registration of Batch C Stream 1 Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) scheduled to commence on November 1, 2023.
In his opening speech, Agbor emphasized the uniqueness of each camp and stressed the importance of teamwork as camp activities kick off. He highlighted the significance of cooperation among all camp officials to ensure a successful camp experience for both Corps Members and officers.
A notable change is the implementation of a new registration process designed to reduce night traveling among Prospective Corps Members. Agbor also informed the attendees that the NYSC management had disseminated information through jingles to media outlets and engaged with transport union bodies in the state to discourage night travels for Corps Members and seek their support in achieving this mission.
He announced that the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for November 7th, a strategic move aimed at minimizing night travel for PCMs and ensuring their safe arrival at the camp without rush.
The Director-General, Brig. Gen. YD Ahmed, emphasized the officials' responsibility to take care of Corps Members and sternly instructed that no camp official should extort money from them, particularly in matters relating to relocation and posting, as all NYSC services are provided free of charge.
Efficiency in resource management was also stressed, with Mr. Agbor urging camp officials and Corps Members not to waste meals and to exercise prudence in resource usage to maintain the quality of meals provided at the camp.
Furthermore, it was announced that all camp officials would be addressed uniformly as 'camp officials' without any distinctions, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and synergy among officials.
In conclusion, Agbor wished all camp officials a smooth Orientation exercise and urged them to maintain professionalism as the registration process begins tomorrow.
Mrs. Adesina Omoboade, the camp director, commended the officials for their preparation and stressed the importance of providing a warm reception to the Prospective Corps Members. She encouraged adherence to the Orientation timetable to prevent any encroachment on other important programs.
The Camp Commandant, Resident Officer 1, and other Heads also emphasized the need for synergy among officials and the importance of treating the Prospective Corps Members with respect and care.
Deputy Camp Director Mr. Lawal Kehinde expressed his gratitude and called for calm support from the camp officials to enhance a successful orientation.
